Please note this date has been rescheduled from Saturday 23 September. Kabir’s video uses the old date but the new workshop will take place on Saturday 21 October 12 – 3pm online.
As part of the Disabled Poets Prize 2024, the UK’s first BSL Poet Laureate Kabir Kapoor hosts a relaxed and welcoming workshop for Deaf BSL users experimenting with creating visual poetry in BSL.
In this safe, supportive and playful space, Kabir will lead exercises so you can create your own visual poems, explore the beautiful language of BSL and learn skills in performing your work and how to film yourself performing your work so it looks as good as it can be.
You’ll leave with a renewed sense of creativity, confidence and joy and some great ideas for visual poems that you can enter into the 2024 Disabled Poets Prize.
